SIDNEY — Barbara Jeanette Vondenhuevel, 81, 5690 State Route 29 East, Sidney, Ohio, passed away at the Pavilion and was called to the Lord on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at 11:10 a.m.
She was born Feb. 8, 1933, in Sheffield, Alabama, the daughter of William and Jeffie Pearl (Brewer) Franklin and they are deceased. She was married to Charles F. Vondenhuevel on July 24, 1948, and he passed away in 1989.
Surviving are five sons, Charles F. Vondenhuevel, of DeGraff, Ohio, Richard William Vondenhuevel, of Sidney, Ohio, Raymond Vondenhuevel and wife, Brenda, of DeGraff, Ohio, James Vondenheuvel and wife, Pam, of Atwood, Tennessee, and Paul Vondenhuevel, of Sidney, Ohio; a daughter, Mary Ryder and husband, Steve, of Jackson Center, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Chalmers, of Greenville, Ohio, and Shirley Robinson, of Piqua, Ohio. A great grandson, a sister and a brother are deceased.
Mrs. Vondenhuevel was a homemaker and had retired from Fair Haven Shelby County Home. She had also worked in the cafeteria at Fairlawn High School at one time. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Private committal services will be held at a later date at the family farm
