THOMAS CLIFFORD MAY      (MAY 107)

BORN:1953, Dec 19 in Sidney, OH

FATHER: ALVIN RYE MAY MAY 106
MOTHER:
EDNA RUTH CLAYTON

  MARRIED 1 : Never Married

   I am the youngest of four children; three older sisters. I was not very old when I started following my dad [Alvin Rye May MAY 106] to the barn. I watched him feed, sort, treat and load livestock. While most boys learned how to play baseball and ride bikes I learned how to walk in a pen of cattle without scaring them and getting hurt. I learnes how to mouth sheep to tell how old they were before learned how to count. My dad was a livestock dealer. I started selling calves, sheep and feeder pigs for him when I was about nine years old. By the time I was fourteen dad would leave me at one auction to buy livestock for him while he went to another. When I was fourteen dad applied for an agents card which placed by buying under his license and bond. According to the directer of the Ohio Department of Agriculture I the youngest person to be issued an agents card.

     By the time I was a Junior in high school I was in partnership with my dad. Our business was licensed as Alvin And Tom May, Livestock Dealers. I may be the only high school student to buy a semi load of feeder cattle over the phone in the high school lobby.

     As a young boy I traveled with my dad to Tennessee to go to livestock auctions and also visit relatives in Lawrence County, Tennessee. I listened to to friends and cousins talk and tell stories about the May family as we set on porches, under shade trees and around the Lawrence County Courthouse in Lawrenceburg. In the 1970s we were regularly in livestock auctions in Shelbyville, Cleveland, Chattanooga and Columbia. We would visit Marvin Hardiman, Flournoy May, Manual Bird and others around Lawrenceburg. I visited Lawrenceburg area into the 1980's after my dad had to retire because of health reasons.

     The most important thing I can share about myself is the fact that I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. Without a doubt I know that when I die I will go to Heaven and be in the presence of my savior Jesus Christ. I received this free gift of salvation the moment I, by faith, placed my trust in Christ and Christ alone for my salvation based upon His death, burial and resurrection. This gift of salvation is instantaneous and eternal. It is the will of Jesus Christ that all men to be saved. Paul wrote in 1Timothy 2:3-4 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

      I must ask, Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your savior? Do you know without a shadow of doubt that if you died today, would you go to Heaven? If you can not answer this question with an absolute yes, please let me show you from the Bible how you may know for sure.

       The Bible makes it very clear we are all sinners. We have all come short of God's righteousness. Nothing we do is equal to God's righteousness.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

      The penalty for the sin we have committed is death. Because of our sin we are separated from God.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; .  .  .

James 1:15 .  .  . and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

       This death is spending eternity in Hell apart from God..

 *Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

*Mark 9:45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

*2Thessalonians 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Everyone who has not accepted Jesus Christ as their savior will spend eternity in the lake of fire.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

       Jesus the only begotten son of God shed his blood and died on the cross to pay the penalty for everyone's sin. He was buried and rose from the dead the third day proving that He was, is and always will be God.

Eph 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

2Peter 3:9 ¶ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

What must you do to be saved:

  • Believe you are a sinner.

  • Believe your sin has separated you from the love of God.

  • Believe you cannot saved yourself.

  • By faith believe Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave the third day to justify you before God

  • Ask Jesus to save you

  • Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

     If you have done this you are saved. There is nothing more you ever need to do to be saved or to remain saved.

Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

1John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
